Improving any society’s workforce is very important, and knowing the steps to take and the benefits derived are keys to its progress, and we at the ‘Sailors’ Society’, are keen to promote our anchor organisation to every Christian Church in the United Kingdom, and to its value contribution in giving and seeing that seafarers, ship-owners, oil-rig workers, construction ship builders and workers, offshore or onshore individual person or persons gets spiritual, physical, mental, emotional and financial help in their time of need, whatever circumstance may occur.

All maritime trade is the life-blood of the United Kingdom’s economy and industry, for 90% of Britain’s economic activity depends on the oceans of this world. And every year Great Britain imports goods worth 524 billion pounds sterling. The United Kingdom is so dependent on the seas for its growing prosperity, that without organisations such as the ‘Sailors’ Society’ acting as spiritual and physical anchor deterrents the effects on the British economy of this tiny little island, we would personally believe be overwhelming. As the many waters cover the many vast seas and oceans of this world, the ‘Sailors’ Society’ through Chaplain intercessory prayers, drive and passion, and wise counselling are spiritually security committed to patrolling our maritime shores, offering reassurance and wider regional engagement to every seafarer or worker on and off the high seas. Our maritime Christian society’s wider capabilities provide humanitarian assistance; spiritual comfort and counselling as when required just like rescuing seafarers from Tsunami’s.

With the daily increase of more ship vessels being unfortunately used for human or illegal arms, the smuggling of drugs or trafficking immigrants, and the more recent threat of acts of terrorism the Christian ‘Sailors’ Society’ fleet of safe-guarding Chaplain workers, agencies and departments are never more needed right now. With 90% of all world trade that is transported by sea, Great Britain is an island nation that is dependent on its sea trade. Just like our Royal Navy is committed and dedicated to protecting maritime commerce, the ‘Sailor’s Society’ is also fully committed and dedicated to letting the United Kingdom and working in partnership and maintaining its capability with the Body of Christ worldwide know, that we are also committed through prayer and intercession in protecting the 17.3 billion + tonnes of goods, and the 600,000+ jobs directly dependent upon maritime necessitates, that the ‘Sailors’ Society’ is a formidable presence on the global stage.

logoWe at the ‘Sailors’ Society’ have a Christian responsibility to all its seafaring citizens, members, and partners in endeavoring to safeguard all that need our organisations’ humanitarian help, whether it’s spiritual, physical, mental, emotional or financial. As Coastguards and ship vessels carry for their passengers Lifebuoys’ to throw to a drowning person or a crew member falling overboard, these Lifebuoys’ have saved many lives every year. God also has human Lifebuoys’ like the ‘Sailors’ Society’ by means of which perishing sinners are rescued, and all those who have known His saving grace and power have received God’s precious life-line. The ‘Sailors’ Society’ is the Gospel Lifebuoy for all shipwrecked people, for God will’s is for all to be saved, and that no person on planet earth should perish, for He has provided salvation for all. You may be shipwrecked by sin, and sinking under the power of its dark murky waters; and this is the condition of all who are “without Christ and unsaved”. For a ship and a seafarer at sea in a perilous storm knows the value of a good secure anchor. A false or failing anchor means shipwreck and disaster.

logoWe here at the ‘Sailor’s Society’ want to be that steadfast anchor in the stormy seas of seafarer’s lives’. Just as many great ocean liners crossed the seas, week after week, carrying thousands of emigrants from their homes to distant lands, some for the better, and others for the worse we want to help people who daily use or need our organisations’ services to reach their shoreline of safety and protection. As life is compared to a great voyage, a passing or crossing over the sea, from one country to another; God’s Ship of Salvation is the Only One to trust for it is registered in heaven. No other guarantee’s a safe voyage across life’s sea, for God Himself is the Captain of our Salvation, and all the passengers are fully insured against loss on the voyage of eternal life. The chart of which we the ‘Sailors’ Society’ sails’ is God’s Holy Bible in which every port is clearly marked, so there is no danger of running aground on any hidden rock. A safe compass is also a needful part of the seafarers’ outfit, and the Holy Spirit of God is our only safe compass. Everything else is uncertain, and leaves doubt about safety but we at the ‘Sailors’ Society’ are using God’s voice to make sure, that every United Kingdom Church, and every seafarer or seafaring organisation, or onshore or offshore worker regardless of ethnicity, age, gender or age group, or disability has the opportunity to book themselves on God’s good ship of eternal grace, mercy, and love. No other ship has God’s guarantee of Glory, AMEN!!!

This is a pocket watch. It consists of an outside case and face and hands, with inside wheels and a mainspring. This watch is just like you. For you have a body, and you have a soul and spirit. The case and face and hands of the watch would be dead and useless, without the main spring and works within. So the body without the soul and spirit is dead. Yet it is the hands and face that tell what is working within. So we, in our bodies, our mouths, our hands, our feet, our words and works and ways tell what is the condition of our souls within.

The MAINSPRING is the life power of the whole watch. Without it, nothing would move. So life, spiritual life, eternal life, which comes into the inner man by a new birth is what we all need. “You must be born again.” (JOHN 3:7).

Then the inner parts of the pocket watch, the WHEELS, must be kept clean and free from dust. All watches are clean when new, but when in use, they are prone to contract small particles, which cause them to go slow and finally stop. There are little sins that get into young lives, once clean, and when retained and indulged, they do a great mischief.

Untruthfulness is one, dishonesty is another, exaggeration a third. When these accumulate, the inner parts need to be cleaned. (Psalm 119 verse 9) tells us how.

The FACE and HANDS of the pocket watch give the result of the inward condition. What you look at, say,and do, where you go, with whom you keep company, all indicate where the heart is, and what the mind is occupied with. This watch is one of the older kind, and I can take out the works from the case altogether. They continue to go, only they do not tell the hour. Our soul and spirit may one day leave the body, and still live; if saved (born again), then they will definitely go to be “with Christ” (2 CORINTHIANS:8), if however unsaved, they go to a hopeless misery.

In resurrection, beyond death, the soul and body will be reunited, and the one person who now lives will continue forever as saved or lost. So choose this day whom you will serve, for the time is short – flee to Jesus Christ, and receive the free gift of eternal life today!!!

in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You, asking Your forgiveness for being intolerant of one another because of the colours of our skin. Forgive us for tolerating prejudice in the household of faith. Set us free from the influence of public opinion that we may live out our glorious, Christ-originated faith.

Forgive us for segregating ourselves by colour, by a measure of wealth or intellect. We are all Your children, the sheep of Your pasture. You made us, and not we ourselves. We are one blood, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, Who was slain before the foundation of the world. We are baptised “into” Christ and have put on the family likeness of Christ.

We call for an end to division and segregation in Christ’s family – may there be no division into Jew and non-Jew, black and white, slave and free, male and female. Among us we are all equal. That is, we are all in a common relationship with Jesus Christ. Thank You, Father, for bringing black and white people together in Christ through His death on the Cross. The Cross got us all to embrace each other, and that was the end of the hostility.

LORD, You are building a home. You are using us all – irrespective of how we got here. Father, You have called black and white Christians and all people from all ethnic backgrounds to travel on the same road, and in the same direction, so we will stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. There is no such thing as a black church or a white church – for we all have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all – Who rules over all, works through all,and is present in all.

Thank You, Father, that prejudice is being rooted out of all black led churches and white led churches throughout the world, and in the Body of Christ, in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN & AMEN & AMEN!!!

God is always faithful in keeping His promises. In the Holy Bible, there is a story about a man named Simeon. Simeon was a very old man who had faithfully served God all of his life. Simeon was looking forward to the coming of the Messiah. God had promised Simeon that he would not die until he had seen the Christ, the promised Messiah. A few days after Jesus was born, Mary and Joseph took him to the temple to dedicate him to God. Simeon was in the temple as he usually was. As soon as Simeon saw the baby, he knew that Jesus was the Christ and that God had kept his promise that he would not die until he had seen the Messiah. Simeon took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, “Lord, now let your servant die in peace. As you have promised, I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people.”

Anna, a prophet, was also in the Temple. She was always at the Temple worshipping and praying. She came along just as Simeon was talking to Mary and Joseph. When she heard what Simeon was saying, she began praising God and telling everyone that this child was the Saviour that God had promised. Both Simeon and Anna knew that God is faithful to His promise just as He is faithful to His promises to you and me, AMEN!!!

I always read my Holy Bible, seven days a week. I wake up bright and early, and pray earnestly. I try not to let anything distract me in my apartment. Then I ring my friend and she comes over and we fellowship sometimes. I have a glass of milk. She is fatter than me but smaller. Sometimes she comes and we pray kneeling down. I always lead the prayer, but you can’t always pray on your own. A man I know sometimes gives me a scripture, the Gospel.
He told me he’s a Christian. I never go to his place to worship. I did go down there twice. You can see his church from the window of my apartment. Mostly it’s Born-Again. They’re always praising. Mostly they’re preaching the Cross of Jesus, because they’re saved. There’s a lot of people in on it. But I can do better with truth, when it’s light in the world, it’s real, sometimes I’m drunk on the Spirit. Seven o’clock the service ends for an evening meal. I always wear my long dress and my black hat, you never see me without my Holy Bible. Sometimes my friend accompanies me, she always brings over two Christian songs. This makes my week and I am very happy!!!
